Offer is AED 9,000 total, which they described as "salary plus allowances" with no separate housing.
I am single, no dependants, and the plan is to send money home every month. Everyone tells me Dubai is tax free as if that settles it, but I cannot find honest numbers for what is left after rent.
If you are on something close to this, roughly what do you actually keep at the end of the month?
On AED 9,000 all-in, sharing a room, here is roughly where mine goes: Bed space or shared room: 1,800 to 2,500 Food: 900 Transport, Nol card: 350 Phone and internet: 200 Other: 500 That leaves around 3,500 to 4,000 if you are careful. It is doable, but "tax free" is doing a lot of work in how people describe this salary.
This is the answer I was looking for. Asking HR for the breakdown in writing today.
