Community Guidelines
This community exists because people going abroad were being failed by bad information and untrustworthy intermediaries. These rules keep it that way: useful, honest and safe.

At a glance
A plain summary. The full text below is what actually applies.
- Do
- Share what actually happened to you: processing times, real costs, documents that caused trouble, agents that treated you well or badly.
- Don't
- Post other people's documents or personal data, sell services, impersonate an official body, or advise anyone to mislead an immigration authority.
- Reviews
- Write about agents you personally dealt with. A negative review stays up whether or not that agency pays us. We do not suppress reviews.
- Scams
- Report them. Fraud reports jump the queue. Section 6 lists the signals worth knowing before you pay anyone.
- If you break a rule
- A warning first for minor things, escalating to a temporary and then permanent ban. Scams and doxxing skip straight to a ban.
- If we get it wrong
- Every enforcement action can be appealed, and a person reviews it. See section 9.
1. What this space is for
Sharing real experience about working, studying and migrating abroad: processing times, actual costs, documents that caused trouble, what the interview was like, which agents behaved well and which did not. Forums are organised by goal and destination so answers are relevant.
2. Posting rules
- Be specific. Say the country, visa type and roughly when it happened. “It took 3 months for a German Blue Card in May 2026” helps someone; “it's slow” does not.
- Say when you are not sure. Guessing with confidence is how bad information spreads.
- Share your own experience, not a story you heard second-hand as if it were yours.
- Protect your own privacy. Never post passport numbers, NIC numbers, visa grant numbers, application references, or photographs of documents, including redacted ones.
- Protect other people's privacy. Do not post someone else's personal data, private messages, phone number or photograph without their consent.
- Post in the right forum and use the country and goal tags, so people can find it later.
- Disagree with the claim, not the person.
3. What is not allowed
- Visa fraud in any form: forged or altered documents, fake bank statements or employment letters, sham marriages, coached false interview answers, or advice on deceiving an immigration authority. This gets an immediate permanent ban.
- Scams and solicitation: job offers requiring upfront payment, “guaranteed visa” offers, requests outside the official Pathfinder checkout to move to WhatsApp for payment, or asking members for money.
- Fake, paid or incentivised reviews: writing, buying, selling, requesting or coordinating them.
- Impersonation: pretending to be a licensed agent, a lawyer, an embassy official, or another member.
- Undisclosed self-promotion: agents, consultants and recruiters must clearly identify themselves and must not review their own business or a competitor's.
- Harassment and hate: abuse, threats, or attacks based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or age.
- Spam: repeated posts, referral links, unrelated advertising, or bulk direct messages.
- Illegal content, or content that infringes copyright.
4. Agent and consultant review policy
- Review only agencies you have personally dealt with.
- Describe what happened: what you were promised, what you paid, what you received, and how long it took.
- Distinguish outcome from service. A refusal is not automatically the agent's fault; overcharging, disappearing or lying is.
- No allegations of criminal conduct without stating them as your own experience or opinion. Report suspected fraud to us and to the authorities as well.
- One review per agency per person. Update your existing review rather than posting again.
- You may not review a business you own, work for, or are related to.
5. We do not suppress negative reviews
This is a product principle, not a courtesy
Advertising and sponsorship are always visually separated from community content and labelled “Sponsored”. Buying advertising has no effect on reviews, ratings or rankings anywhere on this site. Reviewed businesses are welcome to reply publicly.
6. Scam prevention
Before you pay any agent, check these four things
- Registration. Look the agent up in the destination country's official registry: MARA (Australia), CICC/ICCRC (Canada) or OISC (UK), for example. If they are not listed, that is the answer.
- Guarantees. Nobody can guarantee a visa, a job or a processing time. Anyone who does is either lying or does not understand the system they are charging you to navigate.
- How you are asked to pay. Never in cash, never to a personal account. Get a receipt and a written scope of work before any money moves.
- The fee itself. Compare what you are quoted against the official government fee shown in our country guides. A large gap needs an explanation.
Migration scams are common and expensive, and the people targeted are usually the ones who can least afford to lose the money. If you have been targeted, post it, with facts rather than accusations you cannot support, and report it to us. Suspected fraud reports are prioritised over everything else in the queue.
7. Reporting
- Use the report button on any post, comment or review, and pick the reason.
- For urgent matters, suspected fraud, threats, doxxing, also email support@abroadmaster.com.
- We review reports within 3 business days, and within 24 hours for fraud or safety reports.
- Reports are confidential; the reported member is not told who reported them.
- Deliberately abusing the report system is itself a violation.
8. What happens when rules are broken
| Severity | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor Wrong forum, mild incivility | Content edited or moved, with a note to the author |
| Moderate Spam, undisclosed promotion, someone else's personal data | Content removed and a formal warning |
| Repeated More than one moderate violation | Posting suspended for 7 to 30 days |
| Severe Fraud advice, scams, fake reviews, harassment, impersonation | Immediate permanent ban, and referral to authorities where warranted |
A ban ends community access. It does not delete your account data; see the Data Subject Request page for that.
9. Appeals
If you think a moderation decision was wrong, reply to the notification or email support@abroadmaster.com within 30 days. A different person reviews the appeal and responds within 10 business days. These Guidelines form part of the Terms of Service.
